MINT HILL, NC – One of the new restaurants in town is Empire Pizza. As a local, family owned business that recently got their start in 2009, they finally moved into our community and brought their amazing dishes.

This visit, I ordered loaded fries, bar style. These fries with cheese, bacon, jalapeño, and the best part, beer cheese! I’m not usually one for appetizers; however, I keep hearing about these amazing loaded fries or tots. They definitely live up to the hype! They came to the table very hot with the cheese melted throughout not just on the top layer. The jalapeño came on the side without me asking which was nice considering some in my party wanted them without. Meanwhile, the beer cheese was the highlight of the dish! The beer cheese is a perfect fit with the fries and has a uniquely amazing flavor that you must stop by Empire to try! Bring a friend or two as the dish is certainly large enough to share.

Other dishes that Empire has to offer are variations on the philly steak, wings, pastas, quesadillas, of course specialty pizzas, and several others. While my favorite dish is the bruschetta pizza, I decided to go with the recommendation of the waitstaff and ordered the calzone with several toppings. The calzone was baked to perfection with the cheese melting and oozing out when cut into. The toppings were plentiful without overpowering. The calzone has more crust than a typical pizza, but Empire’s has just the right amount of breading.
