MINT HILL, NC – Dae Bak Korean Restaurant located on Hwy 51 is a hidden gem in our community. Located in the middle of the shopping center, it is a small but tasty place for a special meal.
We started with the popular Gunmandu or fried dumplings. Many friends have recommended these and they did not disappoint. They were served promptly and at just the right temperature. The gunmandu is a perfect start to the meal and comes in 6 or 12 pieces. Definitely worth trying!
Based on a recommendation from a friend, I ordered Bulgogi Dolsot-bimimbap. Served in a hot bowl, it is rice with vegetables and beef, topped with a fried egg. The hot pot continues to cook the rice turning it into a crispy treat. The bowl is similar to cast iron and was still warm when we were done with the meal and placed in the to-go container. If you want the dish with more spice, ask for the Gochujang chili paste to spicy the dish to your liking.
Dae Bok has many other tasty Korean dishes. They are eager to answer questions and recommend dishes if this is your first experience. They offer take-out as well as dine-in options.
