Tyler Carroll selected to 2018 National Lacrosse Classic

Tyler Carroll a rising sophomore at Cuthbertson High School has been selected as a 2018 National High School Lacrosse All-American and will participate in the 2018 Maverik National Lacrosse Classic to be held on July 16-19, 2018 in Frederica, Delaware at the DE Turf Sports Complex.

This National Lacrosse Classic is the first-of-its-kind lacrosse experience developed to provide lacrosse athletes with a competitive venue to benchmark their athletic skills, qualify for selection to represent their State in a national tournament, and gain recognition by competing in front of potential college and university lacrosse coaches representing every division in the NCAA.

The sponsor of the event is Legacy Global Sports who is a worldwide leader in sports logistics.  The organization provides sporting event logistics and sports management services at various sporting events around the world.  These events are designed to enhance athletic development, increase an athletes potential, while maximizing collegiate and possible professional exposure for young athletes.  The company has established relationships with AAU, Global Premiere Soccer, Bayern Munich, Sports4Life Foundation, Howe Foundation, Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Tyler who is an upcoming lacrosse athlete has gained recognition while participating in the 2016-2017 Faceoff Academy National Showcase, and being selected as a 2017 Blue Chip Southeast All-Star.  This season he was selected as a 2nd team All-Conference 14 nominee, he had 219 Faceoff wins, a new record for North Carolina according to MaxPreps, second in the nation for freshman, ninth in the State for all classes, and 41st nationally.  He won .631% of all Faceoffs with 219 wins against 347 attempts.   The midfielder, defensive and Faceoff specialist had an outstanding first season for the Cavaliers.  He also competes on the Cross County and wrestling teams.

Tyler was also named “Player of the Game” three times during this past season by Cuthbertson High School Head Coach Cory Turner.  Also, important is academically the young athlete in focused in the classroom with a 3.75 GPA.  We look forward to watching  his development over his high school career.
