Independence High School Patriots 

Football:



Ty Clawson – The senior linebacker for the Patriots had another consistent game on defense for Independence against the Butler Bulldogs in a conference game loss. He had many solo tackles and assists.

Soccer: 

C Van Than – The junior standout midfielder scored two goals in overtime against East Mecklenburg in the Patriots recent 5-4 conference loss.  These two goals give the schools all time single season scoring record holder 27 goals on the season with more games remaining to be played.

Golf:

Parker Melting – The one member women’s golf team at Independence continues to shine as she won the SW4A Conference Player of the Year.  Parker shot a 72 score to lead all honors for the Conference.  This is her second time receiving this award as she won it as a Sophomore.  The senior is highly ranked in the state among the top high school women’s golfers.

Queens Grant High School Stallions

Soccer: 

Mario Portillo – The Junior midfielder has scored 12 goals on the season.  He slammed two goals against Union Academy recently in a big win for QGHS.  Mario has been injured for the majority of the month and has bounced back strong for the Stallions.  He also scored two goals recently in a shoot out conference game loss.

Honorable Mention –  The QGHS Soccer team has outscored their opponents over the past two weeks 31-7.  The Stallions have been on a hot streak and lost only one game in a shoot-out being outscored on penalty kicks 4-2.

Rocky River High School Ravens

Football:

Jylon Sharpe – The talented junior middle linebacker for the Ravens had another strong game for the Rocky River defense in a very tough loss to conference competitor East Mecklenburg.  He accumulated many solo tackles and assists in the game.

Honorable Mention – Offensive and defensive line play of the Ravens against the Eagles was very noteworthy.
