Independence Patriots

Basketball:



Matt Smith – In the game against Rocky River he scored 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 3 blocks for the Patriots playing half the game.  Patriots blew out the Ravens 65-24.  Against the Cougars he had 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Raja Milton – The senior scored 10 points, contributed 6 assists, and 1 rebound in the victory over the Ravens in two plus periods of competition.  Also, in the win over Carmel Christian on Saturday night Milton scored 19 points including the winning basket in overtime for the 58-57 upset victory.  Was then named “Player of the Game.”

Andra McKee – The senior guard added 9 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and had 2 steals in the win over their conference rival.  He scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals against the Cougars.

Honorable Mention:  Seniors Miles Pauldin and Tyler Harris combined for 9 rebounds, 11 points, 3 steals in the Rocky River win.  They then combined for 10 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 steals vs. Carmel Christian.  Junior Anthony Allen had 9 points, 4 assists, 1 steal vs. the Ravens, and added 7 points in the Cougar game.  Sophomore Omarion Bodrick added 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 blocks against the Ravens.

Girls Basketball: 

Grace Breckenridge – The sophomore scored 18 points, 14 rebounds for the double-double.  She also, had 2 steals, 1 assist, and 5 blocks, while being named the Patriot “Player of the Game.”

Braylyn Milton – The sophomore scored 18 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and1 block in the loss to the Ravens.

Ayanna Anderson – Contributed 14 points, 10 rebounds for a double-double in the big local rivalry  game.

Swimming: 

Miles Pauldin, Maddie Hebert, Orion Townsend, and Carmen Thomas were all named to the Southwestern 4-A All-Conference team in swimming events.

Queens Grant Stallions: 

Basketball: 

Jah’ Quez Sanders – The senior guard continues to lead the Stallions in scoring adding another 15 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals in the 50-42 win over Mountain Island.

LB Boyette – The junior contributed 13 points, 7 rebounds in the Stallions away victory on Friday night.

Xavier Westbrook – The senior forward added 8 points, including multiple rebounds to help secure the win.

Rocky River Ravens: 

Basketball:

Narique Smith – The senior guard scored 10 points, and grabbed multiple rebounds, with 2 assists to lead the Ravens in their loss against rival Independence.

Girls Basketball: 

Delayzha Dixon – The Ravens standout scored 31 points, with 10 rebounds for the double-double in the win over the Lady Patriots.

Mashya Scott – The junior contributed 22 points with multiple rebounds to help the Lady Ravens overcome their rival on Friday night.

Andresia Alexander – The scrappy spark plug point guard scored 19 points, grabbed multiple rebounds, steals and assists in the Ravens victory.  She also scored her 1000th career point in the contest which is a fitting achievment for the senior.
