Basketball:
Independence beat Roman Catholic, Philadelphia, PA and lost to Salesian College Preparatory, Richmond California, and to Keenan, Columbia, SC in close games. Â Â
Matt Smith – The senior standout scored 22 points in the first two games played at the Chick-fil-A Classic in Columbia, South Carolina. He also accumulated 17 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks in the tournament.
Anthony Allen – The junior guard led the Patriots with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in the 63-52 win over Roman Catholic. Also, he was named the player of the game by coach Davis. He had another solid game against Keenan with 10 points.
Raja Milton – The senior guard contributed 13 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals in the victory. He scored 18 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals in the final game against Keenan from Columbia, South Carolina.
Honorable Mention: Senior Andra McKee added 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal for the Patriots. While sophomore Omarion Brodrick had 5 points, 10 huge rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block in the win over Roman Catholic. Miles Pauldin added 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the game against Keenan.

Basketball:Â
The team competed at the Western North Carolina Holiday Classic in Asheville, North Carolina.Â
Jah’ Quez Sanders – The senior guard scored 20 points in the teams loss to Charlotte Latin prior to the Christmas break. Meanwhile, the senior scored 13 points against Southside Christian in the tournament. He scored 16 points in the final game of the tournament for the Stallions.
Xavier Westbrook –Â The reliable senior forward contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds in the contest for the Stallions.
Jeremiah Murphy – The junior contributed 11 points in the tournament win our Southside Christian.

Basketball:Â
Narique Smith – The senior guard had 13 points against Myers Park in the teams loss to the Mustangs.
Girls Basketball:Â
The team is currently playing in the Queen City Invitational and will play Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley, West Virginia Saturday 12/29.Â
Delayzha Dixon – The junior is averaging 16.9 points per game and 13.9 rebounds for the Lady Ravens in their seven games played this season. The Ravens are 6-1 on the season.
Mashya Scott – The junior guard is contributing 15.8 points per game and 3.7 steals per game this season over the seven games played.
Andresia Alexander – The quick senior point guard has added 11.3 points per game, 5.0 steals and a pesky 5.3 steals per game on the season.
