Independence Patriots

Cross Country:



Nicholas O’Brien Pifer – Finished the season with a 17:30 time to pace the Patriots in the State 4A Cross Country Finals at the Ivey Redmond Sports Complex in Kernersville recently.

Patriots Basketball: Begins Thanksgiving week so stay tuned for all the action in Mint Hill’s hometown newspaper to find out if the boys can repeat and win another state championship.

Queens Grant Stallions 

Basketball: 

Jeremiah Murphy – The junior forward scored 28 points and 8 rebounds against Covenant Day in the Stallions opening loss.  In the Stallions first win on Friday night, Murphy added 12 points with 8 rebounds.  He is averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds in two games.

Jah’Quez Sanders – Mr. consistency for the Stallions scored 14 points with 5 rebounds in the Covenant Day game.  On Friday night he had 13 points and 5 rebounds in the win against Sugar Creek.

LB Boyette – The junior guard had 19 points in the Stallions win against Sugar Creek to lead all scorers.

Honorable Mention: Senior Xavier Westbrook had 7 points with key rebounds, Josh Suggs contributed 9 points from the point guard position, and junior guard Javari Cox added 8 points to help spark the Stallions off the bench.  Ahmad McNight the 6’7″ senior forward pulled down 10 rebounds in the victory.

Girls Basketball:

Ashleigh Aberly –  The junior center scored 8 points and added 8 rebounds in the Lady Stallions loss to Sugar Creek.

Summer Hamilton –  The senior guard who is a good ball handler contributed 6 points in the loss.
