
Independence High School Patriots
Basketball:
Jordan Mobley – The Indy guard scored 23 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to propel the Patriots past Rocky River in their big conference win to remain undefeated.
Jamarius Burton – The senior leader scored 11 points, however, his 10 rebounds, 14 assists, 1 steal and 1 block earned him a spot again on this weeks list. A triple-triple is an outstanding overall performance.
Honorable Mention: Andra Mckee scored 19 points, with 2 rebounds, Raja Milton 15 points 6 assists, and strong power forward Matt Smith contributed 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in a solid effort.
Girls:Â
Braylyn Milton – The freshman guard scored 24 points against Rocky River and 24 points in Friday nights game vs. Myers Park to continue her team leading offensive statistics.
Brianna McManus – The steady consistent senior performer scored 11 points against the Ravens and 12 points vs. Myers Park this week.
Sharonda Smith – The junior guard scored 18 points for the Lady Patriots against Myers Park on Friday night. She was also named player of the game for Independence due to her all around performance.
Queens Grant High School Stallions
Basketball:Â
Jah’Quez Sanders – The junior guard continues to lead the Stallions scoring 21 points against Pine Lake Prep and 15 points at Union Academy.
Honorable Mention: Senior Khalil Chapman scored 12 and 8 points in two games while hauling down multiple key rebounds. LB Boyette scored 17 points and 9 this week, Prince Lemons remained consistent with 11 and 10 points for the Stallions in solid efforts.
Girls:Â
Sheona Woodham –Â The senior point guard continues to lead the Lady Stallions with steady efforts and scored 13 points against Pine Lake Prep with multiple steals and generating fast break opportunities.
Rocky River High School Ravens
Basketball:Â
Jaden Springer – The talented sophomore scored 35 points against rival Independence to lead all scorers. He also pulled down 13 rebounds, 2 assists, with 3 blocks in another outstanding performance for a double-double.
Honorable Mention: Junior Narique Smith added 15 points and 5 rebounds, while freshman guard Khalil Brantley finished with 11 points and 4 rebounds against rival Independence.
Girls:
Jayla Barrett – The freshman had her best game of the season against rival Independence scoring a team high 24 points while adding 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals for the Lady Ravens.
Andresia Alexander – The junior scored 21 points with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in another solid performance for the Lady Ravens in their big win.
Honorable Mention: Junior Eva Powell added 5 points, however, her 8 rebounds and one key block at a critical time in the game helped turn the tide in the Lady Ravens favor.
