Independence High School Patriots 

Basketball: 



Raja Milton – The junior guard had three solid performances in the recent Palmetto Winter Classic scoring 17, 22, 22 points against West Charlotte, United Faith and Village Christian in the championship game to lead the Patriots to achieving the tournament title.

Matt Smith – The strong power forward scored 16 points while grabbing 14 rebounds for the double-double with 2 assists for the Patriots in their win against the Wildcats.

Jamarius Burton – The senior scored 12 points with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 block shot for the Patriots in their win over Garinger.

Andra McKee – The junior contributed 13 points with 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist and 1 block in the Patriots big win over the Wildcats.

Honorable Mention: Jordan Mobley added 8 points while contributing 3 steals and 1 assist for the Patriots on Friday night.

Girls Basketball: 

Braylyn Milton – Patriots freshman standout continues to shine scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals and 1 block against Garinger Wildcats.

Brianna McManus – The senior tallied 12 points while adding 4 rebounds and 3 steals in the Wildcat game.

Ayanna Anderson – Sophomore Forward contributed 11 points and hauled down 8 rebounds for the Lady Patriots.

Queens Grant High School Stallions

Jah’Quez Sanders – The junior Stallion had a great holiday tournament at Carolina Day.  Against Grace Christian he had 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the 89-70 win.  In the championship game against hot Carolina Day he scored 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Honorable Mention: Khalil Chapman 19 points and Xavier Westbrook 14 points for the Stallions in the victory over Grace Christian.  Jeremiah Murphy added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the Carolina Day tournament championship game.

Rocky River High School Ravens

Basketball:

Jaden Springer – The talented sophomore scored 32 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and had 2 blocks all while sitting down the entire fourth period for the Ravens in their huge margin of victory over the Porter Ridge Pirates.

Jordan Campbell – The senior point guard leader tallied 23 points while hitting 5 three pointers with multiple steals and assists for the Ravens in their victory over the Pirates.

Darlinstone Dubar – The junior forward scored 12 points, adding 6 rebounds while playing a little more than half the game against the Pirates on Friday night.

Girls Basketball:

Mashya Scott – The sophomore scored 21 points while adding multiple rebounds, assists and steals in the Lady Ravens win over the Lady Pirates Friday night.

Honorable Mention: Eva Harris tallied 10 points, Zichia Harris contributed 10 points, and Andresia Alexander who was all over the court had multiple steals, assists making a significant contribution to the Lady Ravens victory.
