Independence High School Patriots

Basketball:



Andra McKee – The junior was named the player of the game for the Patriots in their lopsided win against Porter Ridge.  Andra scored 16 points, pulled down 5 rebounds, had 6 assists while causing havoc on the court.  McKee also scored 26 points and had 2 blocked shots for the Patriots in their big 78-70 rivalry win over Butler while winning player of the game honors twice in one week.

Matt Smith – The Power Forward scored 18 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, contributed 5 assists and had 2 blocked shots in the victory.  Smith added 13 points and 9 rebounds against Butler.

Jamarius Burton – The talented senior scored 15 points, hauled in 15 rebounds for the Patriots in a dominating performance.  Burton scored his consistent 15 points and grabbed 10 more rebounds in the Butler victory.

Jordan Mobley – The senior had a big week for the Patriots scoring 11 points against Porter Ridge and drilling 19 points against Butler in the big win for Independence.

Honorable Mention – Raja Milton had 12 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds.  Senior J. Stewart-Twine 10 points for the Patriots against Porter Ridge.

Girl’s Basketball:

Brianna McManus – The senior was named the player of the game for the Patriots scoring 17 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, contributing 5 steals and credited with an assist against Porter Ridge.

Braylyn Milton – The outstanding Patriot freshman continues to get better in every game.  She scored a team high 24 points while contributing multiple rebounds and steals along with 3 assists in the Patriots victory.

Tennis:

Aleena Oakley – Was selected to the Southwestern 4A All- Conference Girls Tennis Team.  Also, she was recently voted the team MVP and Top Singles Player.

Queens Grant High School Stallions

Basketball:

Jah’Quez Sanders – The leading scorer on the Stallions had a consistent and productive week scoring 15 points against Bradford Prep, 16 points against Carolina International, and 17 points in the Mountain Island contest.

Khalil Chapman – The senior made a major contribution this week for the Stallions scoring 10 points against Bradford, Carolina International 13 points, and 14 in the Mountain Island game.

Girl’s Basketball:  

Ashleigh Aberly – The sophomore Forward scored 16 points and hauled in 16 rebounds for the Lady Stallions against Bradford Prep.  Oh Sweet 16!

Rocky River High School Ravens

Basketball:

Jaden Springer – Local talent scored 33 points, had double digits in rebounds including multiple steals and blocked shots against Hickory Ridge.

Darlinstone Dubar – The lanky competitive junior scored 19 points, had multiple rebounds and one blocked shot against the Ragin’ Bulls.

Nakeem Nicholas – The senior had his best game of the season for the Ravens scoring 10 points, pulling down some key rebounds and generating havoc on the court against Hickory Ridge.
