The Rocky River High School Ravens defeat the Mustangs from Myers Park in a home conference game at the Raven’s Nest on a cold early winter’s night.

The game was close until a little past the midway point in the first period when the Ravens took a 10 point spread on a 6-0 two point shot run led by Jaden Springer,  Darlinstone Dubar and Marcus Evans.

The Ravens dominated the backboards and ran a full court press breaking the back of their opponent in the second period.  With Jordan Campbell the Ravens reliable and experienced senior Point Guard unable to play due to a shoulder injury sustained against Butler on Tuesday night they called upon a group of players to fill his shoes.  Guards Elijah Sidbury, Narique Smith, Nick Burns, Nakeem Nicholas, Kahlil Brantley and Trayden Williams all stepped up big time giving Coach Moseley valuable and productive minutes throughout the entire night.  The second period ended with the Ravens having a comfortable 49-32 lead going into the intermission.

In the second half Myers Park jumped out with a 10-2 run, however, it was nullified when Jaden Springer hit two quick 2 pointers and added two free throws to take the sudden gallop away from the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Dubar slammed a dunk for two more points and freshman Kahlil Brantley stole a pass and blazed up court for a lay-up.  Narique Smith, Jaelyn Lewis, Marcus Evans, Dwight Goodwin and Jalen Perry all joined in the rout opening up a commanding lead to over 30 points mid-way through the second half of the contest.

With about five minutes remaining in the game Myers Park emptied their bench to finish out the game and the Mustangs played well enough to lose the game by 23 points to the Ravens on their home court.

The Ravens will play their next game on the road when they take on Hickory Ridge in Harrisburg on December 12th at 7:30 PM.
