
The Stallions (7-6) overall, (2-0) conference gallop passed Gray Stone Day with an 85-45 victory this past Friday night at home. Coach Forsythe’s team was on top from the tip-off throughout the contest. In this game the Stallions Terron Dixon passed Patrick Tape who graduated from Queens Grant last season and is playing his college basketball at Columbia University as the new all-time scoring leader in the school’s history. Terron scored 21 points, with 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the game. Other major contributions were made from Xavier Westbrook 15 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, Christian Owens 13 points and Daymaun Harvey 11 points.
Queens Grant Defeats Bradford Preparatory School 97-60 in Concord
Again the Stallions ran away with this game early on into the contest taking a 26-12 lead after the first period and a 48-33 lead at the intermission. Terron Dixon the Stallions most consistent and best player scored 30 points leading the charge for Coach Forsythe. Meanwhile, key contributions from Jah’Quez Sanders 21 points, Khalil Chapman 17 points, 10 rebounds and senior guard Christian “Ace” Owens 15 points led the way for the easy victory.
Queens Grant Girls Lose to Bradford Preparatory School 47-28
The Lady Stallions squad of 9 varsity players played a hard fought game against the Bradford Preparatory Bears on Tuesday 1/17 in Concord. The team was led by senior point guard Tiffany Lindsay who scored 12 points in the contest hitting two three point shots. Meanwhile, contributions made by freshman standout Ashley Aberly 7 points, 8 rebounds, Trinity Sutton 4 points, 4 rebounds, Jewell Williams 3 points, 8 rebounds and Emile Castro 2 points.
The Lady Stallions took a quick 5 point lead early in the first period, however, it was soon evaporated by the sharp shooting of freshman Jordyn Lewis the Bears outstanding shooting guard who hit four three pointers during the contest. Lewis led all scorers with 23 points and has been averaging 17.5 points per game for the season adding to her totals.
The next upcoming contest for the Queens Grant High School basketball teams is this Friday night 1/20/17 with a conference game against Albemarle High School away. The Lady Stallions tip-off at 6:00 pm, while the varsity boys play at 7:30 pm.
