Patriots soar past Garinger

In a Southwestern 4A Conference basketball game played Friday night at Independence High School, the Lady Patriots didn’t waste any time jumping out to a 14-0 first quarter lead and never looked back as the Lady Patriots took a 56-12 conference win over the Garinger Wildcats.

The Lady Patriots had three players scoring in double figures.  Braylyn Milton led the Lady Patriots with13 points,  5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals.  Brianna McManus poured in 12 points hitting four 3-pointers.  She also had 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals.  Ayanna Anderson added 11 points and pulled down 8 rebounds.  Alexandria Barrino had 6 points while Laura Flynn and Kalyn Perry had 5 points each, and Sharonda Smith and Alejandra Picon finished the night with 2 points each.



The win pushes the Lady Patriots to a 10-5 overall record and 3-2 in conference play which is the program’s best since the 2008-2009 season.

The Patriots used a tenacious defense and a fast paced offense to cruise past Garinger 68-30 in Southwestern 4A Conference game play on Friday night.

Indy’s Matt Smith had his sixth double double of the year scoring 16 points and pulling down 14 rebounds.  AJ McKee poured in 13 points while Jamarius Burton added 12 points.  Jordan Mobley had 8 points. Other scorers were Raja  Milton 7,  Amonti Burton 4,  Miles Pauldin 2, Travis Burgess 2, Michael Mason 2, and Lloyd Latta 2.

Indy had a ten point lead at the end of the first quarter, and they never took their foot off the gas going on to a 68-30 conference win over the Garinger Wildcats.

The Patriots are on top of the Southwestern 4A Conference with a 5-0 record and 13-1 overall.
