
The Independence men’s varsity basketball team had three of it’s players named to the Southwestern 4A All-Conference basketball team.
Senior Jamarius Burton played in all 29 games. For the year Burton averaged 16.4 points per game scoring 475 points to date. He also pulled down 217 rebounds, had 145 assists, 62 steals and blocked 17 shots.

Junior Matthew Smith also played in all 29 games and scored 356 points for an average of 12.3 points per game. Matt also led the Patriots in rebounding and blocked shots. Matt grabbed 260 rebounds while blocking 78 shots. To date Matt has been credited with 45 assists and 42 steals.

Junior Andra’ “AJ” McKee played in all 29 games and was the second leading scorer with 430 points for a game average of 14.8 points per game. AJ also had 97 rebounds, 84 assists, 55 steals and 15 blocked shots.
The Indy’s women’s varsity basketball team had one player named to the Southwestern 4A All-Conference team.

Freshman Braylyn Milton played in all 25 games. She led the Lady Patriots averaging 15.1 points per game while scoring 378 points on the year. She was second in team rebounds grabbing 116 boards. She also had 87 assists, 84 steals and led the team with 26 blocked shots.
