Football:Â
Luke McPhail – Senior QB would rush for two and pass for one touchdown. He rumbled for 16 and 7 yards on QB Keepers and completed a TD pass of 33 yards. His 7 yard burst into the end zone was the game clincher in the Patriots 27-17 victory.
Omar Zuzueta – The active linebacker would recover two fumbles and had multiple tackles both solo and assisted against East Mecklenburg.
Elijah Puranda – The sophomore had a fumble recovery and a pass interception in key situations for the Patriots to contribute to the win.
Zach Repak – The senior defensive back played well all night and made several solo and many assisted tackles including a key pass deflection preventing a touchdown.
Honorable Mention: Shai Wheeler, Brian Morgan, Trevor Bryan, Antwan Watson, Amarray Green. All four players made significant contributions to the Patriots fourth win of this season. This includes a 33 yard TD pass caught by Trevor Brian, both Watson and Green in the ground game scoring TD’s, the versatile Wheeler on specialty teams, catching key pass receptions, gaining valuable rushing yardage and an important two point conversion.
Soccer:
Cvan Than – The senior continues to rack up the goals and points for the Patriots. He scored two goals in the recent Rocky River match. Cvan now has 17 goals, 4 assists and a total of 38 points on the season. He is averaging 3.5 points per game.
Adam Ali – The Patriots goalkeeper had two clean sheets this week for Independence. He shut-out Garinger and Rocky River in consecutive wins.

Cross Country/Track and Field:Â
Lucas Brown: The senior standout is ranked within the top 35 runners in the state. He was given Honorable mention honors by Mile-Split 50/FLO 50 XC for his accomplishments. Brown comfortably falls into the top 12-35 runners category based on his consistent improvement and success in competition. Some of his personal best performances to date in 2018, include times for 800m 2:10.15, 1600m 4:28.60 3200m and 5K (XC) 16:05.09.

Mario Portillo – The senior has in 13 games scored 14 goals, with 5 assists for a total of 33 points. While junior Micah Parker has contributed 12 goals, 2 assists for a total of 26 points for the Stallions this season to date.
