
On Wednesday evening the Independence women’s basketball team traveled to Denver, North Carolina to take on the Lincoln Charter Lady Eagles (2-2) and came away with their first win 55-38.
With the Lady Patriots leading 8-2 at the conclusion of the first period, Indy’s Braylyn Milton poured in 8 second quarter points along with Natalyah Wilson’s 2 points and 2 points from Laura Flynn. Indy took a 20-16 halftime lead.

Coach Galvani made some halftime adjustments and the Lady Patriots had their best offensive results of the season by outscoring the Lady Eagles 16-9 in the third period.
In the fourth quarter the Lady Eagles made a little run, but the Lady Patriots answered and held them to 13 points while scoring 19 of their own to take a 55-38 victory.

Braylyn Milton led the Lady Patriots with 22 points. Sharonda Smith poured in 12. Ayanna Anderson added 8, Azuria Barrino 7, Laura Flynn 4, Natalyah Wilson 2.
