Independence loses on the road to Providence

In a non-conference road matchup on Saturday afternoon at Providence High School, the Providence Panthers took a 10-4 victory over the Patriots.

Noah Howie led the Patriots’ offense going 3-for-4 including two singles and a double to the center field wall and two RBIs.  Bryson Jusko added two Patriots hits going 2-for-3, and he picked up a walk.



After falling behind 4-0, the Patriots posted two runs in the top of the fourth inning with CJ Brown leading off with a single to center field.  However, Brown was tagged out attempting to steal third.  Bryson Jusko reached on a single and scored on a Noah Howie double.  Howie scored on a passed ball to make the score 4-2.  But, the Panthers added another run in the bottom half of the inning making the score 5-2 after four full innings.

Indy added two more runs in the top of the fifth.  Ben Hagan led off with a single and after stealing second and third he scored on a passed ball.  Brandon Moser scored the Patriots’ second run after reaching on a single to left field.  Moser advanced to third after CJ Brown was hit by a pitch and Bryson Jusko walked.  Noah Howie hit a sacrifice fly to deep center to score Moser making the score 5-4.

Providence added a run in the bottom of the fifth and broke the game open with a four run sixth inning making the final score 10-4 and giving the Panthers the non-conference win.
