The Hickory Ridge Ragin’ Bulls came into town on Wednesday night and jumped out to a huge lead in the first three innings. The Bulls scorched 17 hits in the ball game including a home run by senior Dakota Christie.

Indy starter Kayla Douglas who has been very consistent and reliable all season for the Patriots was rocked by the hard hitting and aggressive style of their opponent. Also, some errors in the field including a few mental mistakes did not provide much needed support defensively.

In the first inning Hickory Ridge jumped out to a 3-0 lead taking advantage of miscues with two doubles for unearned runs. In the second the Lady Bulls added another 4 runs on 5 hits including a steal of home on a passed ball with Indy catcher Abrianna Berry missing the runner on a diving tag for a 7-0 advantage for the visitors. In the third frame, Dakota Christie connected on a long drive over the left center field fence for a grand slam home run putting the Lady Bulls into a commanding 12-0 lead.
In the bottom half of the third inning Indy led off with a double, Kingsley Reardon smacked a solid base hit for Indy’s first run, with Reardon now on second base, the Patriots Maya Douglas followed with another single for the RBI to make the score 12-2 after three innings of play.

With Adkins still on the mound in the fourth she was able to steady the ship by putting the Bulls down in order for the first time in the contest. In the bottom half Indy bounced back for three more runs on two base hits and a three run home run by Abrianna Berry over the left field fence to put the Patriots back into the game at 12-5 after four innings of competition.
The Bulls were able to add two more insurance runs in the ball game and silenced the Patriots potent offense to secure a 14-5 victory.

Abrianna Berry went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s, McKenzie Grant 2-3, Emily Shaver and Maya Douglas both added an RBI for Indy. The Bulls third baseman Dakota Christie led all hitters going 3-4 with 5 RBI’s and a grand slam.
