On Friday afternoon in the main lobby of Independence High School five student-athletes signed letters-of-intent to continue their education and athletic career at the next level.

Athletic Director Elijah Ashley began the ceremony by welcoming friends, family and other guests.  He also offered congratulations to each student-athlete and their families.

The following Independence students signed their letter-of-intent:

 Softball:

Brianna Grant – Tennessee State University

Kayla Douglas – North Carolina A&T State University

Basketball:

Matt Smith – Murray State University

AJ McKee – Queens University

Tyler Harris – Western Carolina University
