Jonathon Todaro, Independence Patriots

The Independence Patriots junior hurler had an outstanding mound performance in a key conference game win against Porter Ridge.  He pitched a complete game while allowing just 4 hits, 2 walks, 2 earned runs and tallied 6 strikeouts.

Todaro followed up on Friday night to get the start against their arch rival Butler Bulldogs at home.  He pitched 5 solid innings for the Patriots while allowing just 3 hits and 2 earned runs in a big conference victory 7-3.

His season statistics to date include 27.0 innings pitched, he has allowed 20 hits, 10 earned runs, 12 bases on balls,  has accumulated 26 strikeouts, almost one per inning with a WHIP 1.185.

Todaro, who played on the junior varsity team last season has come into his own.  He has found a nice groove and is quickly becoming the Patriots most reliable starting pitcher on the staff.  The Patriots are going to have to rely on his right arm with senior Drew Harris being injured and out for the remainder of the season. He is now 4-1 on the season with a 2.59 ERA and continues to show a lot of promise for coach Samuel Skinner’s baseball club.
