Cook throws for three TDs; Indy moves to 1-1 overall

Senior quarterback Wes Cook threw three touchdown passes to senior receiver Dylan Bryan while another senior, running back Chase Rappe, scored two touchdowns as Indy rolled to a 56-0 victory over the Hopewell Titans Friday night at Hopewell High School.

Hopewell took the opening kickoff and could not move the ball. After losing twenty yards on their first possession, the Titans punted deep in their own territory. The Patriots took over on their own forty yard line. After moving the ball thirty yards down the field, Indy fumbled on an end run, and the Titans came up with the ball stopping the Patriots’ drive.

On the Titans’ next possession, Indy’s defense forced several big losses to force the Titans to punt the ball away. Indy took over on their own 47 yard line. Indy’s quarterback Wes Cook connected with Dylan Bryan for Indy’s first score. The two point conversion was no good and the Patriots took a 6-0 led with 6:15 left in the first quarter.

The first quarter ended with the Patriots leading 6-0.

Hopewell’s best offensive series came at the start of the second quarter. The Titans were moving the ball down the field and attempted a pass inside Indy’s ten yard line. Patriots’ defensive back Zach Repak picked off the pass and returned it for what appeared to be a touchdown. The play was called back due to a block in the back, and Indy took over on their own 33 yard line.

Indy’s Wes Cook found Trevor Bryan open and Bryan moved the ball down to the two yard line. Chase Rappe took the hand off and powered his way into the end-zone for the score.

Coach Natoli called for the two point conversion. Wes Cook found Dylan Bryan open in the end-zone and the two point conversion was good and Indy move out to a 14-0 lead with 8:50 remaining in the first half.

After taking a 21-0 lead with 1:35 to go in the first half, Coach Natoli started using his time outs to control the clock. And once again the Indy defense forced the Titans to punt with less that a minute to play. Indy’s Xavier Lloyd caught the punt on the run, picked up some really good blocking, and returned the punt for a 40 yard touchdown making the first half score 27-0.

The third quarter started with Indy receiving the second half kickoff. On the first play from scrimmage, Wes Cook found Dylan Bryan going down the side line and hit him for the touchdown giving Indy a 34-0 lead at the 11:02 mark.

Indy’s defense forced the Titans into another punting situation. The snap from center was over the Titans’ punter’s head and Indy took over on the Titans’ 12 yard line.

Once again Cook connected with Dylan Bryan for the touchdown. Cook got the two point conversion on a quarterback keeper to make the score 42-0 with 8:53 to go in the third quarter.

Indy’s offense continued to drive the ball and with 2:45 left in the third quarter, Patriots’ Tobias Edwards ran the ball in for a touchdown making the score 49-0.

In the fourth quarter Indy’s quarterback Luke McPhail hit Matt Gordy for the touchdown making the final score 56-0.

Wes Cook completed 14-19 for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns. Luke McPhail threw for one touchdown. Dylan Bryan had 8 catches for 102 yards and 3 touchdowns. Chase Rappe had two rushing touchdowns as Indy improved to 1-1.
