MINT HILL, NC – Shirley Lillian Hall Arant, native Charlottean, passed away on October 2, 2021 at 86 years of age. Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother, and a good friend to many. She and her parents moved to Mint Hill from the Steele Creek area when she was a youngster, and remained there until her death. She was the family historian, and passionate for her work in the Mint Hill Historical Society. She and her husband Billy were happily married for 66 years and were the sparkle in one another’s eyes. Preceded in death by her husband Billy Edward Arant, SR; her parents, Margaret Hartis Hall and Jesse Boyce Hall; and her siblings Ralph Hall, Joe Hall, and Sara Shaw. Survived by her sister Evelyn Hall Wilkes, her children Billy Edward Arant JR, Tina Marie Arant Lineberger, and Steven Michael Arant; grandchildren Jarrett Arant, LeAnn Arant Weigand, and John Lineberger; and great-grandson Brooks Arant.

Visitation on Saturday, October 9, 1-2 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail, NC. Graveside service at Evergreen Burial Park, Mint Hill, NC at 2:30 PM. Memorials may be made to Novant Health Hospice and Palliative Care.
