
MINT HILL, NC – Jenny Matilda Smith (Anderson) passed away peacefully at home on 15 October 2021.
Born on 22 July 1943 in Far Rockaway, NY, daughter of George and Agnes Anderson, who immigrated in 1922 from neighboring towns in Sweden to find their special love in the US.
Attended Queens College of the City of New York, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1965, and was recruited into the US Department of Education in 1965 as an Education Specialist.
Survived by son, Spencer Anders of Richmond, VA and his sons Cayden Spencer and Cooper Anders of Richard, VA and by daughter Jenny Kirsten Ataoguz and her daughters Lidie Elevira and Georgena Agnes of Mint Hill, NC, and by sister Georgene Anderson of Charlotte, NC.
Became an at-home mom in 1968 and spent her years nurturing her children and grandchildren.
A magnificent designer of home interiors, with her home in Granby, CT, being recognized as one of the five most beautiful homes in Granby.
Also survived by her husband, Spencer of 57 years, who fell in love with the smartest woman he had ever met (and beautiful, too) and who was blessed with her love, wisdom, and will to live.
