Mint Hill, NC – Calvin A. Benton, 93, of Orlando, FL went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2020. He was born November 19, 1926, to the late John Z. and Emma Crump Benton and was raised in Mint Hill, NC. Calvin was a WWII veteran and served in the U.S. Army. In Orlando, as well as the Charlotte area prior to moving, he worked as a floor covering contractor. He was a member of Killarney Baptist Church in Orlando and a lifetime member of Wilson Grove Baptist Church in Mint Hill.

Calvin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Bonnie Kiser Benton; five brothers and five sisters. Surviving to cherish his memory is his son, Danny Benton, and wife Lois; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Benton Hartis of Matthews, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.

A service with military honors was held in Orlando, FL on August 13, 2020. He is buried in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
