Ann Bedell Steverson, 86, of Charlotte, NC, died peacefully on July 27, 2018 after a brief illness.

She was born on December 24, 1931 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Benjamin and Ola Bedell.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Warren A. Steverson and her brothers David M. Bedell and Richard B. Bedell.  



She is survived by her sister, Sarah Jane Biser of Lexington, SC; her daughters, Beth S. Parker (Brad) of Charlotte, NC, Lynn S. Dunn (Ken) of Willow Spring, NC and Joan S. Street (John) of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Andrew Pignato (Rachel) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Elizabeth Pignato of West Palm Beach, FL, Hunter and Danielle Street of Hendersonville, NC, Kenny Dunn (Faith) of South Boston, VA and Melody Dunn Brisson (Tracey) of Garner, NC; great-grandchildren, Senate Pignato, Kaitleigh, Brooklin and Parker Brisson, and Victoria, Michael, Caleb and Brianna Dunn.  She is also survived by a great number of loving nieces and nephews.

Ann was a graduate of Ridgeland High School and Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC.

She was a First Grade teacher for 38 years with most of her career spent at Bain Elementary in Mint Hill, NC.

She was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church for 53 years serving as a Sunday School teacher and faithful choir member.  Since her husband’s death, she found a new church home at Idlewild Baptist Church.

Ann loved her Lord and her family.  She enjoyed her Canasta Group, spending time with her many friends and playing the piano.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m.  until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Idlewild Baptist Church with a funeral service immediately following with Pastors Wayne Deffinger and Keith Whitener officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Idlewild Baptist Church, 12701 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105.
