In June, Zanyri Clark represented the Stallions from Queens Grant High School and the State of North Carolina along with eleven other students from the state to attend the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders, sponsored by the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists held in Boston, Massachusetts.

Zanyri received an official Award of Excellence, certifying her successful completion of the Congress.  This program is offered by The National Leadership Academies to high school students across America to participate and learn more about the remarkable academic life changing experiences available for pursuit they encountered at the Congress.

The National Leadership Academies is dedicated to supporting America’s high achieving high school students through various career and focus programs and services.  The organization’s mission is to support students with the skills, motivation, guidance and mentorship they require to remain on track to achieve their goals.

She was able to make new friends and build relationships over the 3 day event with fellow high school students who share her passion for the sciences and technology.

Zanyri, was exposed to some of the greatest minds in science and technology, including winner’s of the world’s most prestigious international prizes, including National Medal of Science, Presidential National Medal of Science and Noble Prize recipients in such areas as Physics and Technology and Innovation.

Many of the participants aspire to become physicians, scientists, engineers, technologists and mathematicians.  Each participant must possession a minimum 3.5 GPA or above to attend the conference by nomination.  Also, students are nominated by their teachers, counselors and principals.

Zanyri is a junior who has her sights set on attending Florida State University to major in Neuroscience Psychology and double minor in Psychology and Mandarin Chinese.  She eventually would like to become a Neuropsychologist to help people in China or Indo China before returning to the United States to practice.  “She would also like to thank Richard Rossi, and all her science teachers for giving her the opportunity to explore and enter into the exciting world of science,” said Zanyri.
