Big Guys Pizza welcomed the MOMS Club of Mint Hill for a pizza party on Friday, February 24!

Big Guys hosted over a dozen moms and their twenty children for the MOMS Club pizza party.

Big Guys opened its doors to over a dozen local moms and their almost twenty children at 10:00 am, an hour before regular opening. The kids immediately made themselves at home running around the empty restaurant, sitting in the rocking chairs up front and playing with the big checkers.

The kids enjoyed playing with the big checkers and sitting in the rocking chairs.

Owner Janet Muller took the parents and their children on a tour of the kitchen, showing them the industrial size mixer, cheese grater, refrigerator and freezer. She explained how items like pizza dough and salad are prepared and stored. The tour ended with a look at Big Guys’ brick pizza oven.

Owner Janet Muller showed the kids the walk-in refrigerator, where they store their homemade pizza dough.

After the tour, the kids enjoyed a pizza lunch. Many moms ordered the lunch special, 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $6.99, and others chose to order dishes off the regular menu.

This marked many moms’ first visit to Big Guys. They were impressed by the friendly service provided by Muller and her children, Russell and Brittanie, as well as their enormous portions and great prices. “I loved hearing that they care about the ingredients in their food,” said Madeline Romeo. “They take great pride in the food they make.”

Prior to the pizza party, a small group of moms met up to walk together. The walk was organized by Romeo, who normally teaches an exercise class for moms and their children called Moms in Motion on Friday mornings. Her Mint Hill-based class is open to moms of all ages with or without their kids, so there is a great deal of crossover with the MOMS Club of Mint Hill.

Several moms gathered before the pizza party to walk in town.

Big Guys Pizza is located on the corner of Lawyers and Matthews-Mint Hill Road in the Mint Hill Festival Shopping Center.
