OH THE GAMES PEOPLE PLAY TO SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY
THE Mint Hill Women’s Club is preparing for its annual fundraiser on Tuesday, March 7 at the Philadelphia Presbyterian Church. This annual event will host game tables and a delicious spread provided by the members. The tickets are $10. Through generous contributions by area merchants, there will also be a silent auction and raffle prizes.
The money raised by this event goes back into the community of Mint Hill. Since 2005, they have given scholarships to Mint Hill residents, helped with historical restoration, and made monetary contributions to the Mint Hill fire and ambulance department, library, and arts.
One scholarship recipient, Kelly Ann Pearson, spoke at the latest meeting. A single mother, she told of how the scholarship donation helped her study at the CPCC Culinary Arts Department. She hopes to start her own bakery in Mint Hill someday.
