What’s 17 feet tall, has 4,200 lights, and inspires awe in Mint Hill? Town Hall’s official lighting of the Christmas tree drew a large crowd of enthusiastic admirers. After an invocation by Reverend Bowden, Mint Hill Mayor Ted Biggers thanked the crowd for coming, the countdown began, and the tree lit up in a multicolor glow.

The festivities continued with Christmas music sung by the Queen’s Grant chorus, while children had an opportunity to remind Santa of their Christmas lists, and everyone enjoyed hot chocolate and delicious cookies from Daphne’s bakery.

Those in attendance also participated most generously in bringing toys and children’s’ books as a donation to Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center to benefit the children they serve. It was a night of giving and receiving, and an official kickoff to the holiday season.
