
The Matthews Heritage Museum is pleased to announce that Barbara Stegall is the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2016-2017. She donated more hours of service to the museum than the other volunteers. In addition to giving tours, she also helped to create a program for Girl Scouts to earn a badge from the museum.
The Museum is pleased to have 21 active volunteers in the corps. They assist the Director, Barbara Taylor with numerous chores including giving tours to visitors and students.
The Museum currently has on display the exhibit “A Century of Helping Hands: 100th Anniversary of Mecklenburg Chapter of the Red Cross.” The Museum is open Thursday to Saturday from 10 to 4:30 for tours.
