Mint Hill Arts is proud to present its 7th Annual Ann and Bill Litaker Exhibit, dedicated to longtime members Ann and Bill Litaker.  Bill is with us in spirit and Ann graces our “art oasis” on an almost daily basis. Their unselfish dedication to Mint Hill Arts serves as an example to every volunteer who believes that “art matters,” that everyone’s life is made better because of creative thinking and expression.  

The Litaker Exhibit is open to members and non-members alike.  It is a judged show with judging in four categories, including Water Media (water-based media on paper or paper products), Painting (oils, acrylics, pastels), Photography (unaltered only), and Other Visual Arts (all other visual arts, including altered photography).  For a more complete definition of categories, please visit https://minthillarts.org/exhibits/current/ or contact Thea Barbato, Gallery Chair, at tbarbato@carolina.rr.com.

 Awards to be presented are Best in Show ($300) and, in each category, First Place ($100), Second Place ($75), Third Place ($50), and two Honorable Mentions ($25 gift certificate).  Awards will be presented at the Opening Reception to be held from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, at the Mint Hill Arts Gallery at 11205 Lawyers Road in Mint Hill. The reception is free and the public is invited to attend.  The presentation of awards will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Intake for the show is Friday, November 30, 4:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 1, 10:00 a.m. – noon at the gallery.  Entry fees, for up to two pieces, are $10 for members and $30 for nonmembers.  Size restrictions, other rules for eligible artwork, and description of commissions are found on the Mint Hill Arts website given above.

The Litaker Show is Mint Hill Arts’ biggest and best show of the year so plan to see it and enjoy it with your holiday guests.  The show will hang from December 7, 2018 until January 16, 2019. The gallery is open Wednesdays – Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
