You can pretty much guarantee that the fireworks at Mint Hill Madness will be the most unforgettable event of the weekend.  Late afternoon, people from all over the county will start gathering in the park. Teenagers will make arrangements to meet their friends.  Families will just happen to bump into friends they normally only see at a baseball game. People will come together under the food tent to enjoy one of the various Madness food options and listen to one of the musical groups playing on the stage.

As the night begins to fall, the soccer field transforms into a sea of people, setting up blankets and chairs wherever they can find a piece of grass, hoping theirs is the best viewing spot. The sound of The Entertainers will fill the air.  Suddenly the lights in the park are turned off and the countdown begins….10, 9, 8, 7…children can be heard screaming in excitement…6, 5, 4…..the crowd will get even louder…3, 2, 1…a melody of patriotic music begins and fireworks will dazzle the sky in blazing colors.  By now, everyone will realize, there is not a bad seat in the park as they witness the most spectacular fireworks display in Mecklenburg County. People are shocked and amazed every time a rocket goes up and explodes above their heads. In tune with the music they produce amazing colors and designs as the music reaches its crescendo.  The best part of the entire Madness weekend. When it is over, the crowd will erupt in a thunderous applause that lasts almost as long as the fireworks.

You don’t want to miss it.  This year promises to be the most memorable show ever. Make sure you allow plenty of time to get to the park and get settled.  Don’t be late. The fireworks start at 9:00 p.m.
