For the second year, Urban Air in Mint Hill will host a special event for local foster children and children in need on Thanksgiving.

The trampoline and adventure park has been open about a year and a half and can be found at 9108 Lawyers Road.

Owners Chris and Nicole Fasulka decided to host the event for the first time last Thanksgiving with the help of friends, family, Urban Air staff and local organizations.

“What we do is we bring in fosters and we bring in orphans and we just have a good time,” Chris Fasulka said.

The park is closed to the public and on that day, they open up for the kids who will have a couple of hours to enjoy the whole park before sitting down to eat a Thanksgiving meal. A family friend adopted a few children, which inspired them to host the special event for foster children and other children in need last year. In all they had around 125 people attend last year and this year they are expecting around 330, Fasulka said.

“Just giving back was terrific,” he said in reference to what he liked most about hosting the event.

Children’s Attention Home, Home 4 Me and Hope Haven are some of the many organizations the business is working with this year to put on the event.

Amber Millett and Jasmin Delacruz, employees of Urban Air in Mint Hill, said they enjoyed last year’s event and look forward to the one this year.

“It was a lot going on,” Delacruz said about the one last year.

Many kids attended last Thanksgiving who were from many different areas. They all seemed to enjoy themselves and she liked meeting all of them and seeing them have so much fun, Millett said.

Trampolines, a climbing wall, a ropes course and more can be found at Urban Air in Mint Hill.

Fasulka said he and his family enjoy owning the business and being able to bring joy to local people with it.

They do and are interested in possibly expanding to other locations in the future, Fasulka said.
