CHARLOTTE – Not too far outside of our community is a wonderful 55+ Senior Living community for active adults called The Dorchester & The Manor. It is designed for seniors who value lifestyle choices, community amenities, in-home services and plenty of activities to keep them busy! The Dorchester & The Manor focus on providing a low cost, high-quality home that offers choices for their residents that promote a life of independence.

Compared to many other senior living facilities, one of the unique things about being a resident at The Dorchester & The Manor is that you only pay for the services that you use. As part of the base rent, all apartments include electric, water, maintenance, trash removal, and secured access with a 24/7 front desk staff as well as a full activities calendar that promotes the 5 pillars of health – social, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. There are also many extra services “à la carte style” that residents can purchase to supplement their lifestyles such as handyman services, housekeeping, in-home doctor visits, on-site physical therapy, friendly faces to run errands, and much more. Residents never have to leave home to find a variety of dining options either. Meals are served restaurant-style by staff who know and care for you. It is a full-service campus that is affordable and allows residents to “age in place.”

While both properties are on the same Pineville campus, The Manor is a luxury independent senior living facility with 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments. Each apartment offers an open floorplan with the choice of a patio, deck, or bay window and single level living with a large master bedroom and walk-in closet. Residents can also enjoy a designer kitchen and laundry room inside their unit. The Dorchester is a more affordable independent senior living option. This building offers 1 & 2 bedroom apartments with single level living, plenty of storage and full kitchens.
What sets The Dorchester & The Manor apart from others is best quoted by Tyler Steele, Chief Operating Officer, “Our purpose and passion is to promote long-term independence for our residents,” says Steele. “We work to create choices that allow them to have the freedom to only pay for what they use. They’re not stuck paying for three meals a day for dining services that they may not want. That being said, if they want that service, we can offer it! We can bundle services to what makes the most sense for their life. It truly is an independent living: participate in what you want, when you want. Pay for services that you use, when, and if you want to use them. Our goal is to provide a safe, high-quality affordable home that focuses on helping our residents have the quality of life that they deserve.”

While The Dorchester & The Manor offer different choices to fit anyone’s lifestyle, the care and sense of community are shared by everyone who lives at the property. Residents have the opportunity to engage with each other and be involved in daily activities and social events. It’s a community of seniors enjoying their best years together while being surrounded by friends and people who care about them.
