Mint Hill Arts is pleased to announce that Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center is sponsoring the “Summer Art Show by Novant Health,” the current exhibit at the gallery at 11205 Lawyers Road in Mint Hill. This exciting new partnership with Novant Health, with awards for the judged show generously provided by Novant, allowed Mint Hill Arts to attract the best artists in the region to in the Mint Hill community. Eighty-two pieces are on display. The show will hang until July 24 and members of the community are invited to visit the gallery and bring their summer guests to enjoy the show. The gallery is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from to 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. There is no charge for viewing the show.

When moms come to see the show, they may be interested in the bringing their children to participate in “The UNcreative Summer Art Contest.” Participating kids pick a piece of art from the show and copy it using colored pencils. Such imitation is in the tradition of aspiring artists of the 19th century, who copied great works of art to improve their own technique. The contest is ongoing on Thursdays through Saturdays from June 12 until August 1. All materials are provided. The art is judged in two categories, ages 5 – 8 and 9 – 12.
