The Queens Grant Stallions baseball team had another successful season under a solid coaching staff and head coach Dan Kerr who was selected as Coach of the Year in the PAC 7 Conference.

The team won the PAC 7 Conference with an 11-3 record. The same club went deep into the 1A Division State Championship Tournament making it to the fourth round after earning a first round bye. They were eliminated 10-5 by an excellent hitting Uwharrie Charter baseball club who won the State 1A Championship title this past weekend. The Stallions finished the season with a 19-8 overall record, which included the schools biggest victory when they beat 4A Butler High School 7-5 in a non-conference game.

The Stallions have placed six players on the All-Conference team. Four players were selected previously for their outstanding on the field performance. The athletes who have been nominated three times during their career is senior ace pitcher Bryce Gorospe, senior outfielder Spencer Smith, and junior First baseman Nick Kuebler.

Last season’s All-State selection junior center fielder Andy Duran received his second All- Conference nomination, while returning junior Jacob Beard was selected for the first time in his career, and the talented freshman who has a lot of upside Alwin Duran earned a spot on the All-Conference roster.

Regarding All-State selections we will know if any of the Stallions will receive recognition by mid-June when the committee meets to announce the players.

Congratulations to all the Stallions for your accomplishment from the Sports Editor, and The Mint Hill Times.
