Patriots top Ravens in a Doubleheader Game 2

MINT HILL, NC – In the second game, Indy’s Wilson Lohrer, Joe Minaya, and Luke Chantrywere all called on to the pitch and combined for a no-hitter and a 13-1 win over the Ravens.

Acting as the visiting team in the second game, the Patriots scored afterJake Stanley reached on an error and scored on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead. In the bottom half of the inning, Wilson Lohrer sat the Ravens down in order.

The Patriots had a big second inning scoring 10 runs on eight hits. Thomas Miller got the inning started with an infield hit. Jake Stanleystepped in and doubled to right field scoring Miller. Wilson Lohrerfollowed with an RBI single and scored on a base hit by Carson Gesing. Taylor Moser kept the scoring going with a hit to center field. PJ Chilescame to the plate and drove in Moser with a hit to left field. Coach Skinnersent Luke Chantry into the game to run for Chiles. Chantry scored on a Tyler Spicer fielder’s choice and later came home on a Raven error.

Joe Minaya came up for the second time in the inning and reached an an error and later scored on a wild pitch. Thomas Miller also got a second at-bat and was safe at first on another Raven’s error. After Jake Stanleysafely bunted, Luke Chantry cleared the bases on a triple to center field giving the Patriots an 11-0 lead.

In the bottom of the inning, Joe Minaya took the mound for the Patriots. In the inning Rocky River picked up an unearned run on a walk to JonathanCausey. Causey scored on an Indy throwing error to make the score 11-1.

Indy added two more runs in the top of the third inning. PJ Chiles was awarded first base after being hit by a pitch. Cole Coates doubled scoring Chiles and advanced to third on the throw and scored on another RockyRiver error to make the score 13-1 heading into the bottom of the inning.

Indy’s Luke Chantry got the call to finish the game and he did. Chantry struck out the side. The mercy rule kicked in, and the Patriots won the second game 13-1.

Next week the regular season winds down as the Patriots take on the first place Myers Park Mustangs.

Thursday’s home game will be senior night and the Patriots invite all patriots fans to fill the stadium.
