MINT HILL, NC – Independence Patriots’ basketball season ended in the opening round of the NCHSAA state playoffs. The number 2 seed Patriots were upset 62-45 by the number 15 seed South Mecklenburg Sabers.
Jalen Hinton led the patriots with 14 points. Isaiah Thomas and Landon King added 6 points each. Divine Allah 5, Amir Davenport, and Ralph Johnson had 4 points each. Reginald Smith and Camren Little had 3 points respectively.
Indy finished the season as co-champions in the Southwestern 4A Conference.
