The purpose of the Patriots Booster club is to maintain a feeling of fellowship, support and meeting the needs of the schools athletic community. The Club promotes and encourages an enthusiastic interest and motivation in the Patriots athletic program by providing both moral and financial support to achieve positive results for the student athletes and their coaches.
Booster Club President Brian Haislip called the meeting to order and the board members, coaches and active parents including Athletic Director Elijah Ashley reviewed some old business and received the Treasury Report from Amanda Carney.
The Club has raised a good amount of funds for the athletic teams this year and they are in good financial condition. The support from the Mint Hill business community and citizens has been fantastic.
The revenue generated from the Concessions has been steady and they expect to do well at homecoming against Butler on Friday night 10/13 at 7:00 PM for the big rivalry football game. Also, on Wednesday October 11th between 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Veteran’s Park, the Town of Mint Hill Bonfire Pep Rally will be held for the Patriots.
Athletic Director Elijah Ashley addressed the meeting participants and updated them on various business affairs concerning the athletic teams and the progress of the renovation project of the football, soccer and track stadium facility on campus.
Also, there was some discussion about the student athletes who standout at a particular sport, the importance of academics, obtaining good test scores to be eligible to play and compete at the college level.
There was a discussion about the senior profiles to be returned, receiving consistent feedback from coaches weekly on their top performers and the important role of giving back to the community and fundraising events. A short conversation about Patriot support for a local non-profit organization Servant’s Heart of Mint Hill was raised and will be further reviewed and evaluated by the officers of the Booster Club.
