MINT HILL, NC – Who knew a local event would be so enjoyable! Mint Hill Events Inc. presents Family Fun Nights loaded with pure amusement. During the summer months, the community, families, and friends in the local area can partake in the free entertainment. Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park serves as the outdoor location for the events, which are also sponsored by Edfice General Contractors and Mint Hill Orthodontics.

The best practice is to arrive on time to savor all the fun! The gathering promptly begins at 6:30 pm and ends at roughly 9:00 pm. The public can enjoy a concert series, jump houses for the kids, food trucks, games, and so much more. If you missed last Saturday when Pluto for Planet led the concert summer series, no worries! Thankfully, Mint Hill has more concert dates to offer this summer. Kindly save the dates for August 20 when Red Dirt Revival plays. Also, plan for September 17 when you can enjoy Jay Hoff and Company.

During the July 16th event, Pluto for Planet showcased upbeat melodic classics from different genres. That was a real treat! They played consistently without interruption while highlighting fan favorites such as Kings of Leon, Blind Melon, Steelers Wheel, and The Temptations, to name a few. For a first-timer, it was a heartwarming experience to see a diverse community come together consisting of barefooted children, loving families, and friends of all age groups. The Family Fun Night included the Mint Hill Fire Department spraying water just for a lively experience for the kids, located in the lower field. It was a great way to stay cool! The children loved running underneath huge gusts of water while playing tag with their friends.

The easy-going nature of the crowd was apparent thanks to the company of the Mint Hill Police. It is nice to know the safety of our community is the number one priority in ensuring the event runs smoothly. One police officer stated the event is a [beautiful] thing to have “bring[ing] local business and people together,” and she “loves living here in town,” knowing Mint Hill is family and community-oriented.

Also, there were a variety of local food trucks with plenty of options for every mood. They had hot dogs, tacos, popcorn, ice cream, and so much more. The food was great! However, the kind owners were even better with their personable and warm personalities. It was sweet nostalgia with the crowd-pleasing cotton candy bringing back memories of the good old days. Thankfully, the Mama K’s Kettlecorn added it to the menu a month ago. Watch out for the next event! Maybe you will find Debbie Carver and her son Brian mesmerizing the line of children with their cotton candy-making skills. While you are there, meet the local hot dog food truck owners, Aaron and Cindy Thrasher. With 10 years of dedication, I am sure they know a thing or two about a good hot dog. Graciously, they stated their favorite part of the evening was the band and the “awesome people, com[ing] out even on a bad rainy night and support[ing] us!” Surprisingly, the rain did not influence the turnout too much. Undeniably, the event was nothing short of fun!
