MINT HILL, NC – Mint Hill Chick-Fil-A fans, rejoice! The new Chick-Fil-A location on Matthews-Mint Hill Road is officially open to the public, marking the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday morning. The restaurant sits prominently on Matthews-Mint Hill Road, just across from the Mint Hill Town Hall. And yes, a new stoplight has arrived along with it in anticipation of increased traffic in the area.
Owner/operator Hal Queen, who also owns the Albemarle Road Chick-Fil-A location, says, “We’re really looking forward to interacting with the community. We’ve been doing this since 1999 when the Albemarle Road Chick-Fil-A store opened, and we’re so excited to have another kitchen to serve this area.”
If you’ve come to know and love Chick-Fil-A’s tasty offerings and prompt and polite service, you can expect a similar experience when you visit the new Mint Hill location. Additionally, look for seasonal favorites arriving on the menu soon, including a peppermint chocolate chip milkshake and, just in time for cooler temperatures, chicken tortilla soup.
You’ll notice limited hours as the new location gets properly staffed. The store will be open from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm for the next several weeks. Once they’re fully up and running, they’ll shift to Chick-Fil-A’s more traditional 6:00 am – 10:00 pm weekday schedule. On Saturdays, they’ll be open from 6:30 am – 10:00 pm. All Chick-Fil-A restaurants are closed on Sundays. Guests can dine inside the restaurant, enjoy a meal on the spacious patio, or take advantage of drive-thru service.
When reflecting on why Chick-Fil-A and Mint Hill are a perfect match, Queen says, “Back when Truett and Jeanette (Cathy) started Chick-Fil-A in 1967, it was based on the principles of serving great food, offering amazing service, and having incredible generosity. I think that fits well within any community.”
A few days before the new location opened to the public, the restaurant hosted a soft opening where they served Mint Hill’s fire and police departments, as well as a small number of other area residents.
“It was really interesting to be able to see how connected everybody is within the community here. When people pulled in, everybody knew everybody. That’s the vision of this restaurant. We want to be a place where people gather to find refuge in refreshment,” Queen says.
Additionally, Queen says he hopes the Mint Hill Chick-Fil-A can provide the perfect opportunity for teens in the community who are looking to dip their toe into the employment waters for the first time.
“We’re thrilled to be able to pull young people from the community and give them a tremendous opportunity to have their first job. They’ll be able to learn how to treat people kindly and offer great service, as well as how to prepare delicious food. They’ll get to serve their teachers, their barbers, people they know in the community,” Queen says.
If you’ve found yourself wishing for quick access to your favorite Chick-Fil-A meals, look no further. Happy days and tasty chicken are here at last.
