Pastor Michael L. Henderson, Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Church in Matthews, and the Reverend Dr. Twanna Henderson, Executive Director, have opened their Community Life Center (CLC) to the community for counseling.  New Beginnings Church started 18 years ago with 12 members meeting in a recreation room and they have been a counseling ministry for the past 8 years.  Set up as a 501c3 non-profit, the CLC was created in order to help and encourage people.  The Reverend Dr. Henderson explains how Pastor Henderson started the Center, “His formal training in counseling, and his heart and passion for helping people, compelled him to build the CLC for the Charlotte region, and particularly for the benefit of Matthews, Mint Hill and surrounding areas. With the financial help and support of the New Beginnings Church members, his vision came to fruition.”  The CLC was opened two years ago and the Church is working to spread the word that the CLC is open and here to help.

“The CLC provides counseling services such as Individual, Couples & Family Counseling; group sessions such as Divorce Care, Grief Care, Anger Management, and Recovery. In addition, the Center has state of the art meeting space for rent, and a small chapel which accommodates up to 100 guests.”  The CLC is open every day from 9am to 5 pm but the Pastor and Reverend recommend that you call before stopping in so that they can make sure you receive the right help.  Payment is set up on a sliding scale so that everyone will be able to receive the help they need.

“The Vision of the Community Life Center is to be “The epicenter for transformation of communities of individuals toward total wellness and new beginnings”. We are currently seeking like-minded community leaders to be considered for our board of directors.  To contact the Community Life Center, call 980-225-9915 or email lifecenter@nbccministries.org.“

New Beginnings Church has several events coming up.  They are hosting a Vacation Bible School from July 30 to August 3rd.  They will host a dinner at 6:00 pm and Vacation Bible School starts at 7:00 pm.  They have classes for children, youth, and adults and membership is not required to attend.  Parents are welcome to stay for the Adult School while their children are in their own class.  On September 29th, they are hosting the “Twanna P Henderson Breast Cancer Awareness Race” in Mint Hill.  The race was created to bring awareness to breast cancer because even though a lot of organizations support research and other aspects, the truth is that 1 in 8 women are affected by breast cancer during their lives.  The Community Life Center also has a Cancer Ministry for people and families going through treatment. Race information can be found on racesonline.com.
