MINT HILL, NC – Independence Patriots 

Basketball 



Ralph Johnson – The junior scored a season high 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds for the double-double along with a steal in the Patriots victory over rival Rocky River 59-54.

Jalen Hinton – The senior team leader continued his consistent performance with another 15 point game while hauling down 3 rebounds. He added 10 points on Friday night.

Landon King – Another promising junior contributed 16 points and 3 rebounds in the teams big win on Tuesday night. In Friday night’s loss, King led the Patriots charge with 21 points.

Tachai Miller – A senior who had an all-around solid performance scoring 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists, and 1 block in the victory for the Patriots.

Girl’s Basketball

Jessica Timmons – The talented senior netted 30 points while shooting 55% from the floor. She grabbed 11 rebounds for the double-double, contributed 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks for a solid performance against Rocky River.

Kaylee Carson – The upcoming freshman continues to shine. She added 21 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in an outstanding effort.

Gracie Breckenridge – The strong center grabbed 6 rebounds, 5 blocks, 2 steals, and scored 4 points in the contest.

Chloe Moss – Another solid freshman scored 13 points, shoot 6 of 7 from the floor for 86%, while hauling in 7 rebounds.

Rocky River Ravens 

Basketball

Calik “Duke” Thomas – The senior team leader scored 12 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 deflections, 1 assist, and 1 steal for a solid performance in the loss to Independence. On Friday night he scored 16 points, 10 rebounds, with 4 deflections for a double-double. He was named Player of the Game twice this week. Thomas is the runner-up for the “Featured Player of the Week.”

Tobias Forte – A senior guard contributed 10 points along with 2 deflections in the contest. He added an assist along with one steal in a good effort. Against the Wildcats he scored 10 points, with 3 blocks, and 4 deflections.

Christian Rudisell – Another senior guard added 9 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist in the loss to Independence. While Friday night he added 11 points, and 9 rebounds.

Queen’s Grant Stallions

Basketball 

Joel Taylor – The senior is averaging 10 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and has shot 68% from the floor for the Stallions.

Jeremiah Wooten – The strong senior dominates the boards with 80 rebounds, 15 blocks, while averaging 9 points per game.

Girl’s Basketball 

McKayla Green – The senior Lady Stallion is averaging 13.0 points per game. Most recently she scored 27 points against Bradford Prep, and was named Player of the Game. Green scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Carolina International for a double-double.
