Independence Patriots

Basketball:



Jalen Hinton – The senior scored 15 points, shot 71% from the floor while picking up an assist against the Butler Bulldogs in a big 73-45 win. He is averaging 13.8 points per game and 2.3 steals per game this season. He recently scored a season high 20 points on Friday night against the Wildcats.

Landon King – The consistent junior contributed 11 points while adding a good defensive effort. He is averaging 13.0 points per game, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists for the Patriots during the early part of the campaign.

Isaiah Thomas – The senior netted 12 points against Butler, shooting 5-8 from the hardcourt or 63%, he has been averaging 8.0 per game, while hauling down 7.5 rebounds, and 1 block per game for the home team.

Girl’s Basketball: 

Jessica Timmons – The talented senior drilled another 36 points, shooting 11-12 Two-Pointers for 92%, while adding 3 from the 3-point range, grabbed 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals against rival Butler in a huge 80-22 victory. On Friday night she added another solid 25 point performance.

Braylan Milton – The consistent team leader added 11 points, 6 assists, 1 steal, 3 rebounds, in the win. She is averaging 13.2 points per game this season. She picked up 9 assists, 8 rebounds and 10 points against the Wildcats.

Kaylee Carson – The freshman standout with a lot of upside contributed 18 points, shooting 6-7 from the floor, netting 6-8 free throws, grabbing 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals along with 1 block. She is averaging 15.0 points per game after Friday night.

Averie DiBenedetto – The senior defensive spark plug who creates havoc for Patriot opponents led the team with 6 steals, added 3 defensive rebounds, 1 block, while adding 5 points, 6 assists offensively. On Friday night she added 6 more steals.

Gracie Breckenridge – The 6’2″ senior had her best game of the season scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against the Wildcats for the double-double.

Rocky River Ravens:

Basketball: 

Stephon Richards – The versatile senior scored 20 points shooting 6-10 from the floor to lead the Ravens past Myers Park 76-69. He was named Player of the Game by Coach Donald Kirby.

Calik “Duke” Thomas – The senior contributed 10 points against the Mustangs while scoring another 14 points against the Eagles from East Mecklenburg. He grabbed 4 rebounds, added 3 assists in the victory. Thomas is averaging 14.3 points per game for the Ravens this season.

Demonte Cunningham – The senior netted 16 points while shooting 6-7 or 86% from the floor against the Eagles in a 92-54 rout. He added 3 rebounds in the contest and is averaging a team-leading 14.5 points per game this season.
