MINT HILL, NC – The Mint Hill Lions Club will be holding a Food Drive on Saturday, September 24, at 4335 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, on the corner of Lebanon and Highway 51 (location of the First National Bank and Mathers Realty parking lot) from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. They are asking the community to gather any non-perishable food items for this drive and join together to help fight hunger.

This event is not only being held here in Mint Hill. On Saturday, Lions Clubs across the State of North Carolina will all be holding simultaneous food drives. All of their collections will be taken to their local food banks and pantries. The Mint Hill Lions are proud to be participating in the event on this special day. A state-wide event of this nature is exactly what the Loins Club comes together to do. “Together We Can. We Live,” states Lions International. “We Give and We Serve As One. Because we know that together we are more. Together, there are no limits.”
The Mint Hill Lions Club held regular food drives during 2020, and the generosity of the community allowed them to be able to deliver over 11,000 lbs of food to Second Harvest Food Bank and Loaves and Fishes. The hope is that by combining the efforts from across the state that the Lions Club statewide will be able to deliver that much food and more all in one day to local food banks and pantries. This is a huge effort, and together we can make 2022 a huge initiative to help fight hunger. The event and other food drives are a global initiative supported by Lions International to fight hunger locally, nationally, and globally.
Together let’s help support their initiative and bring non-perishable food items and make this a record event for all.
