“Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation is a wonderful partner,” said Paige McKinney, Executive Director at the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce.  “They always hold a first-class event on a beautiful golf course.”

”The golf tournament is the Chamber’s biggest annual fundraiser,” added Rick Peniston, Vice President of the Chamber’s Executive Board.  “The revenue generated helps support our scholarship program, our Seniors’ Christmas luncheon, our dues contribution for members who are struggling due to COVID, and makes a significant contribution in our annual budget. Joy Greear, Chamber Golf Committee Chair has championed the tournament for the past three years and made it a huge success.”

Meanwhile, the Chamber Golf Committee Chair, Joy Greear stated, “The annual golf tournament is the Mint Hill Chamber’s largest fundraiser of the year. The net proceeds get invested back into the Mint Hill community. The funding provides scholarships to local high school seniors to apply to their college tuition or books, supports senior citizens, and reduces the costs of local ribbon cuttings, networking events, training sessions, webinars, and local pop-up events provided by the Chamber of Commerce.”

Greear added, “This event is not possible without the generous support of so many from the community. This includes local businesses and individual citizens who donate prizes to be raffled, purchase sponsorships, and put together foursomes, which all create the bulk of the revenue generated. It’s also an opportunity for several sponsors to show appreciation to our local police and fire departments, public works, and veterans by funding teams they represent. Many volunteers come together to make the day a wonderful local event. We are grateful for all who serve, donate, sponsor, volunteer, play, and support the event.”
