Apply by March 15

Every year the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce gives two $1,000 scholarships to college bound students from Mint Hill. One is awarded to a female and the other to a male. The student can attend any high school, public, private, or charter, as long as the parents of the student live in Mint Hill. While certainly the award is based partly on academic achievement, the Chamber takes community service and leadership into consideration. This leadership can include sports, churches of organizations, or community initiatives, and is the focus of the required essay.

One of last year’s winners was Logan Brock from Independence High School. The Chamber was especially impressed with not only his academic record and leadership ability, but also his outstanding letters of recognition. He now attends Winget and is on their football team.

Interested students should go to the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce website for the application and requirements. The two students will be notified by April 15 and presented the scholarship at their school’s awards night. Deadline for application is March 15.
