Girls Softball:
Maya Douglas – The Harvard University bound senior slugger pounded out 8 hits on 13 at-bats hitting on a .615 clip for the week. She had 6 extra base hits including a 3-run home run, and 7 RBI’s along with multiple stolen bases. Also, named this week’s Featured Player of the Week honors.
Mallory Shaver – The senior power hitter who is heading to the University of South Carolina Aiken made a significant contribution this week. She had key hits in important situations along with hurling valuable innings on the mound for the Lady Patriots. She blasted a two-run home run against Butler to keep the Patriots close early in the contest.
Men’s Lacrosse:
Fernando Hernandez – The sophomore leads the team with 22 goals, 29 points, and 34 ground balls in 12 games. He is tied with 7 assists making a consistent contribution. Against East Mecklenburg he scored 6 goals, added 2 assists for a total of 8 points.
Logan Weller – Against East Mecklenburg the senior scored 2 goals, added an assist for 3 points while picking up 1 ground ball in the 14-8 Patriot win.
Myles Lockett – Contributed 1 goal, 2 assists for 3 points while adding 1 ground ball in the contest.
Cole Thompson – Another sophomore has scored 10 goals and accumulated 5 assists for 14 points, and 28 ground balls in the 12 games played this season.
Myles Stewart – The senior goaltender on the season has played 498 minutes, has allowed 127 goals on 256 shots, with 129 saves, and a .503 save percentage in the net. Against East Mecklenburg his statistics remain consistent with 8 saves on 16 shots on goal for a .500 performance and gaining the win.
Queen’s Grant Stallions
Girls Softball:
Kayla Purdy – The freshman with a lot of potential went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s and scored 1 run while pitching 6 innings, allowing 7 hits, 6 earned runs, 9 BB, and 3 strikeouts. To be more effective she must work on her control in the 9-5 loss to Union Academy. On the season Purdy is hitting a solid .452 with 17 RBI’s, 2 doubles, 2 triples, with 1 home run for the Lady Stallions.
Carson Ouimet – The young Lady Stallion who is only a sophomore has been very consistent all season. She is hitting at a .514 pace, with 18 hits, 9 RBI’s, and multiple steals. Against the Cardinals from Union Academy she went 1-3, scored 1 run, had 1 RBI, 1 BB, including 1 steal in the contest.
