Baseball:Â
Wilson Lohrer – The senior standout who has shown above average bat speed went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI’s, and 2 runs scored in the Patriots 9-5 win over the Butler Bulldogs. He was also named the “Featured Player of the Week” by the sports writers covering high school baseball.
Carson Gesing – The Independence hurler continues to give the Patriots solid innings and consistent performances on the mound. He tossed another gem allowing only 5 hits, 2 walks, and had 9 strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched in the Patriots win over Butler. He allowed only 1 earned run on 102 pitches, and had 18-28 first pitch strikes in the ball game. On the season he now has a 3-2 record, has pitched 26.2 innings with 38 strikeouts, allowed 11 base-on-balls, with an ERA 2.100, WHIP 1.275 this season.
Brandon Moser – He worked 3 base-on-balls against the Bulldogs in the big win. He is hitting a solid .313, has 2 home runs, 6 RBI’s, 11 walks, 10 runs scored on the season to date. He packs a solid OBP .633, SLG .688, OPS .1.321 in the 8 games played this season for the Patriots.
Queen’s Grant StallionsÂ
Baseball:Â
Noah Roundtree – The sophomore is hitting at a .333 clip for the Stallions. He picked up two hits a single and a double against Pine Lake Prep in a recent loss while playing a steady left field for the young Stallions.
Cody Marsh – The senior went 1 for 3 against Pine lake Prep in the home loss. However, his has accumulated a BA .467, 7 hits, 3 RBI’s, with 1 double on the season. His OBP. 583, SLG .636, OPS 1.219 leads the Stallions offensively this season.
Softball:Â
Anne Estelle Strawn, Abi Sawyers, Sydney Reynolds all were selected to the PAC-7 1A All-Conference First Team. While Carson Ouimet and Kayla Purdy were recognized and nominated Honorable Mention for the Stallions.
