Independence Patriots: 

Baseball:



Carson Gesing – The Independence ace pitched a no-hitter against East Mecklenburg in a 6-0 shutout victory for the Patriots in a Conference match-up. He accumulated 13 strikeouts, while allowing just 2 walks in the ball game.

Wilson Lohrer – The senior has accumulated 8 hits including 1 triple, 3 doubles, 7 runs, 4 base-on-balls, 3 RBI’s with a .667 batting average. He has a solid .765 OBP, SLG 1.083, OPS 1.848 to lead the Patriots offensively this season. Lohrer went 3-4 with a triple and 3 RBI’s in the Patriots sweep of East Mecklenburg on Friday.

Luke Chantry – He is making a solid contribution this  season hitting .385 with 5 hits, 1 double, 3 RBI’s, 5 runs, with an OBPO.471, SLG .462, OPS .932. He went 3-4 with a double and 3 RBI’s on Friday against the Eagles.

Brandon Moser – The senior power hitter went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s in the second game against the Eagles slamming his second home run of the season.

Taylor Moser – He contributed Friday night smacking his first home run of the season giving the Patriots some added cushion in the late innings.

Girls Softball:

Maya Douglas – The power hitter ended her senior year with a .596 batting average on 28 hits, 24 runs, 25 RBI’s, 6 doubles, 3 triples, 9 home runs, with an OBP .642, SLG .1.425, OPS 2.068, along with a fielding percentage of .925.

Mallory Shaver – The senior finished strong during her final season with a .447 batting average, 21 hits, 9 runs, 15 RBI’s, 6 doubles, 4 home runs. Her OBP .480, SLG .829, OPS . 1.310 while giving the Patriots valuable innings on the mound.

Girls Soccer:

Samantha Swinson – In 12 games played this season the sophomore leads the team with 23 points which includes 9 goals, 5 assists for an average of 1.9 points per game.

Aleisha Lamb – The junior has tallied 22 points on 9 goals, 4 assists for an average of 1.8 points per game this season for the Patriots.

Abbey Stengel – This sophomore has contributed 20 points with 6 goals and 8 assists while being involved in the action for an average of 1.8 points per game this year.

Kamyrn Browder – Another member of a solid group of sophomores added 17 points while scoring 8 goals with 1 assist for an average of 1.4 points per game.

Queens Grant Stallions:

Girls Softball: 

Abi Sawyers – The freshman for the Stallions finished the season with a batting average of .625 with 25 hits, 21 runs, 23 RBI’s, 7 doubles, 2 home runs, 9 walks, 19 steals an OBP.700, SLG .950, OPS 1.650. She also had the 5th highest batting average in the PAC-7 1A Conference.

Anne Estelle Strawn – The senior leader ended her high season with a solid .524 batting average, on 22 hits, 22 runs, 29 RBI’s, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 9 walks, 10 steals with an OBP .553, SLG .667, OPS 1.220. Strawn had the 10th highest batting average in the Conference.

Sydney Reynolds – The sophomore power hitter ended the season with a .500 batting average on 18 hits, 18 runs, 22 RBI’s, 8 doubles, a team leading 3 home runs, 9 walks, and 8 steals. Her OBP .587, SLG .972, OPS 1.559.
